Las pirámides de Egipto son una de las Maravillas del Mundo antigüo, junto con los Jardines Colgantes de Babilonia, el Coloso de Rhodas y otros.

Las pirámides encierran grandes misterios en cuanto a cómo se construyeron, sobre las maldiciones que se dice que poseen. Cuando en 1927 se abrió la pirámide de Tutankamón, se convirtió en un gran destino turístico. Pero pronto se comenzó a decir (por algunos accidentes desafortunados relacionados con la excavación) que pesaba sobre ella una maldición, que cualquiera que entrara en la tumba moriría.
